Over the course of the next few weeks we will be creating a digital portfolio through a personal website. Online marketing and branding is an essential skill for young entrepreneurs, consultants, and professionals. Whether you hope to market a business or intend to apply to college, your online footprint matters. You will be creating a digital portfolio to share at your community presentations this fall. Your portfolio should reflect your interests and personality. It should quickly share information about who you are, what you have accomplished this year, and where you are headed in life.
Your final digital portfolio must include at least the following sections:
1. About You
2. Career
3. Education
4. Accomplishments
5. Community Engagement
Within these sections you will include pdf and photos for a standard portfolio.
To get you started with brainstorming the digital possibilities, please review at least four of the following websites. I would suggest looking at two from each link:
1. 45 Beautiful Design Portfolios: http://www.creativebloq.com/portfolios/examples-712368(Really cool design sites that show what is possible but all these are slightly different than what we include in our portfolios.)
2. LSU Digital Portfolio Examples: https://sites01.lsu.edu/wp/cxc/digital-portfolio-examples/(These are great examples of student portfolios like what needs to be included in your sites)
After reviewing a few sites, please jot down a few reflections of useful and applicable ideas that you might incorporate into your own personal sites. Your reflections will demonstrate that you've looked at these sites and are ready to get working.
